Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Costing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all costing activities related to projects, including preparing bid programs, budgets, and forecasts. You will be tasked with providing accurate budget analysis, tracking project costing, communicating with various departments and sub-contractors, and following up on budget changes with proper justification. The role will involve preparing monthly reports, identifying issues, proposing corrective actions, and supporting the Head of Department and Project Manager in maintaining accurate financial records for ongoing projects.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate entry of cost-related data into the system.
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and cost estimates for system entry.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining cost tracking sheets.
- Help identify and analyze system errors or failures.
- Maintain and organize documentation related to cost control.
- Conduct periodic site visits as required to ensure cost tracking is on track.
- Help monitor and validate subcontractor and supplier invoices to ensure compliance with project budgets.
- Prepare Monthly Cost Report for Top Management, including alerts and proposed corrective actions.
- Prepare Commercial Claims for Variations, Additional Work Cost Estimates (B.O.Q), and New Items Breakdowns to revise original budgets and prepare contractual claims.
- Follow up on variations with clients to update contract documents.
- Assist with any other related tasks as directed by the Head of Department.
- Collaborate with the Estimation Manager to define and develop project budgets, analyzing resources, rates, and quantities for each project.
- Analyze crew size, work methods, and major equipment deployment for ongoing projects.
- Check with the department site agent to ensure compliance with procurement site requisition orders and align them with the budget.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 1 to 4 years of relevant experience in large-scale contracting companies.
